I've had my process for 6 months and just replaced the batteries in the motion detectors. I assume that using superior quality batteries than those supplied will mean altering them closer to once a year. Not poor at all, given that I do not have to run any wires to these locations.
I opted not to use the window/door sensors, as they look somewhat tacky in my opinion. Rather, I got a couple additional motion detectors to provide total coverage of my house. The sensors are somewhat adjustable. On the default setting, they do choose up my 4 pound dog.
In the past 6 months, I have not had any false alarms where I could not identify the trigger. There have been quite a few days where I forgot to disengage the program and walked right by means of the motion detection field. Certainly, I can't blame that on the program.
General, I'd say this is an incredible technique for the cost. The manage pad looks kinda low-cost, so I didn't prominently display it in my home. It is in a closet. The motion detectors are very modest and unobtrusive. I've told household and close friends that I have the alarm process and most of them did not have any notion, as the detectors blend in pretty nicely.
Hi every person, i ordered the Skylink SC-100W (newer model) and received mine two days ago. I set it up yesterday. Because the technique comes pre-set it only took me 30 minutes. The only thing i had to adjust was the passcode. The motion detector alone would have been adequate for me as that thing is as sharp as a needle. Because i have no pets and no children i have mine on high and it really is fantastic. The window/door sensors took a bit of playing about with but they are operating fine (for now). I have my alarm on "Chime" mode mainly because the siren is exceptionally loud, my ears were ringing all night right after i had tested it. In spite of this i have amazing comfort figuring out i can use the panic button on my keychain to activate the siren if i really feel i'm in danger. It really is so loud that my neighbours will hear it and will be calling 911 in no time. I had the alarm on all night and had no false alarms. It has only been 1 night but i am particularly pleased with the system. I'm told this a newer model, i am not very positive how it differs from the Skylink SC 100 Deluxe Kit. If anybody could tell me the distinction that would be fantastic. All in all i'm very pleased with the technique and i am giving it four stars simply because of how sharp the motion sensor is and considering that the siren is extremely loud. I sleep nicely at night....incredibly well.
