The PIR sensor works incredibly well. It scans every 5 seconds reacts incredibly quickly. I ordered added sensors to compliment the Air Alarm kit I ordered. The adjustability of the mounting tends to make it simple and easy to aim once a mounting location is chosen.
Of the 3 sensors, there is one that appears to have one particular undesirable trait. I am unsure if it is unique to that sensor or if it is mainly because it is in a high site visitors place or poor luck with 9V batteries. The PIR scans each and every five seconds according the manual and when it detects movement, it glows red. The sensor in question has put to use three 9V batteries due to the fact it was mounted. The original battery did not last especially long and I assumed it was mainly because it was a no name battery included with the unit. The second lasted three months and it did not glow "white" when the battery is low according to the manual. The red LED just would was not as brilliant as usual (it was a 9V that I had, but tested "really good" with the battery tester before installed- so it could have been just bad luck with two batteries). It is on it really is third battery in six months. That is the only concern that has come up given that the installation and so far just with a single of the 3 PIR sensors. The Air Alarm and sensors are not even one year old however, but the PIR does perform as stated.
When these work, they're amazing. I currently have five installed, and normally speaking, they operate properly. Nonetheless, of the eight total that I have ordered, I have had challenges with 3: a single wouldn't turn on at all, 1 looked like it was turned on but would not detect motion, and the third a single detects motion inconsistently. I'm returning the two that do not function at all (via Amazon) I'll update the evaluation if there are any troubles with the return.
