I read all the critiques prior to I attempted this product. I am really concerned and picky shopper. I thought I would give this a try. I think the important to this item is the flooring you are implementing this on. The foot on the lock functions outstanding on title or wood. I would not advise this product on carpet.
One essential point to recall...the farther away you have the base from the door the much less strength it has. Attempt to get it amongst 70 degrees and 80 degrees. I was able to knock it out of place at 50 and 60. I usually do not be concerned about security however, I am a heavy sleeper. I can fend for myself but I have to hear it initial. Let me know if you located this valuable!
The device does what is suppose to. If somebody wanted to break in the front door of our apartment they would have to kick it down... and we would truly hear it.
We were way more afraid of an individual "sneaking" in the location, rather than breaking in.
When it is stretched out to the fullest it seems a tiny flimsy.
An Added bonus is that it also functions as a door stopper to hold the front door open.
